CORE R/C - Lithium Polymer (LiPo) Batteries
READ CAREFULLY BEFORE USE OR CHARGE
LiPo Batteries are lighter, faster and punchier than typical NiCad or NiMh cells so please enjoy and respect the performance of this battery.
ONLY use a charger designed specifically to charge LiPo batteries. Always confirm the charger is set to charge appropriate voltage.
Three cell LiPo packs = 11.1 volts, Two cell LiPo packs = 7,4 volts, One cell LiPo packs = 3.7 volts. The maximum charge rate for this CORE
R/C battery is 1C which means 1 Amp per 1000mAh. e.g. Max charge rate = 3 amps for a 3000mAh pack and 4 amps for a 4000 mAh pack
For the 3s (11.1v) and 2s (7.4v) batteries, a balancing LiPo charger is recommended.
Batteries rated at 20C discharge are capable of continuous discharge of 20 times the capacity. For example the 4000mAh pack is capable
of 4000mAh x 20 = 80 Amps continuous discharge.
The second number stated is the burst discharge current which is 2x the continuous discharge rate.
Always put any LiPo battery inside a fireproof bag or box when charging, such as the CORE R/C LiPo Lockers CR735, CR736 or BAT-SAFE
Charging Safe Box products.
Use the main power wires to connect to your Electronic Speed Control (ESC) and for normal charging, and the balancing connector ONLY for balance charging if you choose to do so.
Never discharge your LiPo battery pack below 3 volts per cell (6 volts for a 2s pack). Your pack will be permanently damaged if its voltage drops below this. Use only with a speed control that has LiPo voltage cut-off settings, or use an external voltage cut-off device with this pack. Use of this battery without a proper voltage cut-off device will permanently damage it and may lead to a catastrophic failure.
TIPS
LiPo batteries do not have any memory effect.
Store packs with about 50% charge in them.
You can use your LiPo battery as many times in a day as you want to.
This CORE R/C LiPo battery gives more performance and better life than NiCd or NiMh batteries.
You must only use a LiPo capable charger.
WARNINGS
LiPo batteries store a lot of energy and require a responsible approach to safe handling. Avoid short circuits or any overcharging and be prepared to deal with a fire by dry smothering with sand or powder.
When changing connectors make sure the two wires cannot touch during the process. Any short circuits will permanently damage the pack.
The battery should not exceed 40degrees C in normal use. 60 degrees C is the safe maximum.
Do not discharge below 3 volts per cell. Recharge to 3.8 volts per cell every 6 months in store.
Do not leave connected in a model. Always unplug a LiPo pack after every run.
Do not charge unattended or in a model.
Do not short circuit your battery.
Do not charge or use a battery with swelling or any signs of physical damage.
Remove the battery to a safe place if there is any risk from the above conditions.
WARNING - RISK OF FIRE & EXPLOSION
In the event that a LiPo battery falls in some circumstances it may catch fire, explode or emit smoke and chemicals. If this occurs smother the battery with sand or dry powder, never use water. We strongly advise to always place any LiPo battery inside a fireproof bag or box when charging, such as the CORE R/C LiPo Lockers CR735, CR736 or BAT-SAFE Charging Safe Box products. Failures are rare and only occur due to physical damage, incorrect charging, and use without a proper low voltage cutoff. Never charge a battery which has swelling or any signs of physical damage. Fire may occur up to one hour after last connection.

For larger or heavier orders, we use APC to deliver your package on a Next Working Day service.

An order placed after 10am on Monday should be with you on Wednesday.
Shipping is free to UK Mainland addresses for orders over £30.00, otherwise we charge £6.00 for Royal Mail Tracked 48 parcels and £12.00 for APC Next Working Day.
NORTHERN IRELAND
Unfortunately, for the purposes of the new EU GPSR regulations introduced on 13th December 2024, Northern Ireland falls under EU jurisdiction.
Until we have worked out how to comply with the new rules, we will not send items to Northern Ireland.
We are really sorry about this and hope to have a solution in place sometime in 2025.
SCOTTISH HIGHLANDS & UK ISLANDS
Royal Mail considers the Scottish Highlands and UK Islands as part of the UK and so does not charge a premium for deliveries.
Pretty much all other UK couriers have surcharges for deliveries to the following postcodes: IV, HS, KA27-28, KW, PA20-49, PA60-78, PH17-26, PH30-44, PH49-50, ZE, IM, TR21-25
If you live in one of these postcodes and the parcel size of your order is outside Royal Mail's dimensions, you will have to pay a surcharge.
Our system is not clever enough to work this out and so if your order attracts a surcharge, we will contact you before despatch to see if you would like to pay the surcharge and proceed with the order or cancel and receive a full refund.
INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING
EU COUNTRIES
On 13th December 2024, the EU introduced new regulations with respect to product safety called GPSR.
There was very little publicity or notice given to small UK businesses about the new regulations, but needless to say, to comply will be time-consuming, onerous and probably expensive.
Unfortunately, until we have worked out how to comply with the new rules, we will not send items to EU countries.
We are really sorry about this and hope to have a solution in place sometime in 2025.
Smaller items
Items that fit within Royal Mail International Tracked Medium Parcel parameters (59cm x 17cm x 15cm weighing less than 2kg) can be sent to most countries outside the UK.
For example up to 3 of our smaller 18” wingspan kits can fit into one of these parcels.
A parcel like this currently costs around £18 to send to the USA and will take up to 3 weeks to arrive. This is because Royal Mail hands over the parcel to the local Post Office service for your country who have to clear it through customs and then deliver it to you.
The Royal Mail tracking code also transfers over to the tracking for your country’s postal service.
Larger items
For items that do not fit within Royal Mail International Tracked Medium Parcel parameters, we use standard international couriers such as DHL, FedEx and UPS.
These companies use something called volumetric weights to calculate the cost of shipping.
For example, a Balsa Basics RC bundle kit that measures 102cm x 34cm x 16cm and weighs 2.5 kg is actually calculated at 14kg!
This makes these very expensive to send outside the UK - a large kit can cost nearly £60 to send to the USA.
